Hello all!
I’ve another druid journal for you!
This week I had the opportunity to celebrate two different rituals of winter. Toussaint (“all saint’s day”) is of course the Catholic day of remembrance for the dead, though like many other Catholic rituals it is itself a syncretised version of older European pagan rituals for the dead (the Celtic ritual day of Samhain, for instance).
Toussaint is celebrated differently throughout the world (for instance, in Mexico where it becomes Dios de los Muertes—Day of the Dead). Here in the Ardennes there is a particular version of it that is quite peculiar, which I discuss in the video.
The other ritual I celebrated was Diwali, the Indian festival of light dedicated to the goddess Lakshmi. I discuss how we celebrated it and wax a bit ecstatic about how others who heard about the celebration decided to do it too.
Here it is, available just to paid supporters for now until I make it public later.
