Podcast appearance: on capitalism, paganism, and land connection
A fun conversation with Seba on the Southern Fried Witch
I was quite delighted to be asked by Seba O’Kiley to appear on her fun podcast, The Southern Fried Witch. Seba is a homesteader/farmer/re-inhabitor, and also a witch, and also a really damn cool person!
We talked about many topics covered in my book, Being Pagan, as well as the pressure from small farmers by larger agriculture, the importance of “overgrowing” capitalism, the original non-gendered meaning of the word “wife,” the witchy-ness of Hildergaard von Bingen, and many other fun things.
It’s free to listen to this discussion, and you can do so either on her webpage or on Spotify.
Because there’s so much media and time is a limited resource, I don’t usually click through to podcasts, but your mention of Hildegard of Bingen piqued my interest, as well as the etymology of the word “wife”! (Of course, we all already know that a husband is bound to the house and tends and takes care of things, a role my own better half fulfills admirably.)
Will add it to my queue!
