First of all, I’d like to let you all know that my discussion with
for my podcast, The Re/al/ign, is now unlocked for everyone. It was an amazing conversation, even with the multiple technical difficulties we had. As with all episodes, they’re first available to paid subscribers and then get unlocked after a period of about two weeks.Secondly, though, I wanted to let you know that life’s been a bit wild for me for a while, but it’s settling. You’ll have no doubt noted I didn’t write much over the last six weeks. There’s a reason for this: a family health crisis which I alluded to in this essay, but I cannot go into more specifics of this.
It was a really, really hard time, and I thank you deeply for your patience with my absence while I took care of real-life things. I lost a lot of paid subscriptions during my writing absence, and though I completely understand these things happen, it made tending to this emergency a bit more difficult. So I’m especially grateful for those of you who stuck with me.
For anyone who’d like to help out a bit beyond subscribing, I do have a “Buy Me A Coffee” profile. Or if you’d like to subscribe as a paid supporter, you can do so below.
Also, all my books — and others — are 20% off until the end of May at Ritona Books. If you like my writing here, you might especially like The Secret of Crossings, which is a compilation of the best writing of the first two years of From The Forests of Arduinna. Use code MAY2024 at checkout.
I’ve a few essays ready to publish here soon, including one on the spirits of gardens, and I’ll be publishing another chapter in Other-Song. I’d also like to ask what you’d like me to write about. Really, I’d love to hear from you on this in the comments. Please don’t be shy.
Be well, and more soon.

Sorry to hear of your difficulties and I do hope everything takes a better turn soon. I enjoy your writing so It’s a pleasure to be here regardless of occasional pauses. Thanks for your work.
If you’re interested in a question, how far to the gods and muses inform your writing, and more generally poetry and music for other artists ? A neglected poet asks…
No worries about the absence. As to what I'd like to see, I'm here for your takes on mythology and religion, so more of that is always welcome.
