I love this, Natasha!

You were also on NAAS, right?

Hi Helen, yes I was on NAAS, lurking for a while back when substack was young and the coronation shone like a beacon in the dark times of covid. I found it hard to build community there, it became strangely cliquy quickly i felt, but there were deff a lot of interesting folks gathered there.

Indeed! I made some really good friends there and am still in touch with many. I totally went for the community building! It was such a wonderful refuge in those quite scary times.

Yes, listen to your body which also seeks healing! Lower back pain appeared combined with weakness, pain and numbness in my left leg extending down to my foot. An internet friend told me to listen to my body. My osteopathic doctor said surgery. I requested physical therapy. The physical therapist who had helped me successfully with other conditions when asked if he had seen people with my condition avoid surgery paused and said, “Rarely”. After a couple of sessions with him I felt the exercises weren’t helpful except one. I stopped the therapy. Tried acupuncture also felt a no go. I settled on daily twenty minute sessions of standing qigong in which I would my body into a good posture following the directions of a martial arts teacher, Tim Cartmell on how to do so, then proceeded to do this shaking qigong https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fo0fiwQeP7k The first time I did it, though not healed it felt right. So began daily sessions. I also added lions mane mushroom powder in my morning coffee to facilitate the healing of nerve damage.

A few weeks was prayed for by some Pentecostal Christians who prayed for full restoration. If you desire healing prayer be prayed for by people who have faith their prayers will be answered. A couple of weeks later a friend from their church told me a prominent Pentecostal healer was coming to their church. I went to service with several hundred people crowding the church. His custom was to speak for about a half hour and then begin his healing ministry.

About five minutes into his talk he paused and said, “The Lord wants me to start early”. He then said, “Anyone with a pain in their left leg stand up”. I was sitting in the front row close to him and stood up, the only one in the crowd to do so. He pointed to me and said, “The Lord says to heal that leg shake it.” No one knew what I had been doing at home(I live alone) not even the friend who had invited me. Needless to say I continued shaking and two weeks later I danced with all my heart at my friend’s wedding. It took months for the numbness in my foot to vanish under the ministration of the lions mane. I am fully restored.

wow this is an amazing healing and thank you for sharing! shaking is a huge medicine and many of the plants i work with are used to induce shacking. Im so curious about how you feel about prayer and the Pentecostals....did you go deeper into relationship with the church? qigong or both? And hurruh for lions mane. I also like to use st johns wort to heal and regenerate nerve issues.

I have been a pentecostalish Christian since the 70’s and have seen very nice healings effected instantly solely by prayer over the years. Though that lightning strikes a lot less than I would like. I have practiced tai chi with a bit of qigong since 2010. My experience at the church was just confirmation I was on the right track. In my journey. I was throwing everything on the wall to see what would stick and listening to what my body was saying. I never had any intention to get more involved with the church, just using them as a possible vehicle for healing. I had other places of Christian fellowship. This was in Covid summer 2020, I am a teacher and have summers off, everything was shut down so getting healed was my summer activity. And the healing remains and I know how to listen in to my body when I need to. I was also part of NAAS back in the day until typical human weakness, frivolity, and stubborn passions changed it and caused it to fall short of initial high ideals and hopes. I have seen that happen in a number of groups and organizations over the years.

I also study natural modes of healing and have helped people. I have a friend who was on 22 medications and now takes none, using various natural supplements like ginger, beetroot powder, and Ashwagandha instead.

i feel lucky to have witnessed miracles in various modalities, never with the church tho so its been great to hear of your experience. i was also sorry/not surprised over NAAS, have yet to have a really cohesive online community. I like the looseness of substack and have found it the most engaging without demand platform so far. Good to hear of your work and viva the plants!

Hey Natasha! I went to check out your website (Pacific Northwest? wondering if you're close to Mendocino) and it seems to have some technical glitch, won't load, even in different web browsers.
